The Social Era is the fourth set with an emphasis on cooperation, competition, and intrigue.  It marks a return to the classical, mythological style of the first era with a player-driven story via gameplay as per the second era.  Players will oversee the rise of the first civilizations, religions, and divine heroes.  Many of the formative stories of their worshipers will play out here, especially those that feature mortal (or semi-divine) heroes.  For the most part, the players will play as these heroes or the civilizations that worship them, as they go to war, build great wonders of the world, or simply try to survive in a chaotic and constantly changing world.  For the winners, it is a golden age of antiquity.

However, all great things must come to an end.  These are simply the first civilizations that rose and fell before the true historical record began.  Humans, sauren, and other natural races only reach sentience at the end of the era, so these civilizations are dominated by elves, dwarves, qin, or other ancient elder races.  In future games, when players are exploring ancient ruins or delving into long-sealed dungeons, these are the creators of those places.  So a fair amount of this era is dedicated to in-game worldbuilding and setup for later eras or games.

This is a medium-scale set based on the Wheel's social-axis and adjoining colors, so Sace (Charisma), Rha (Personality), Dau (Strength), Vei (Wisdom), Ela (Spirit), and Biz (Fortune).  100 cards of each color are represented (most as multi-colored cards), with 300 total cards in the set.  There may be as many as 150 additional special story cards, likely the Greater, Main, and Lesser Gods of these colors.  As a medium-scale set, card values range from 1K (common) to 1M (mythic rare) and the story roughly covers a period from 2 million years ago to 200 thousand years ago (or the evolution of the younger sentient races).  This set completes the cycle of medium-scale cards, so that there are now an equal number of such cards in all colors.  This helps to level the playing field and gives the players a chance to encounter all forms of play.  So as to not overwhelm players, the main action of the era doesn't force them to engage with the gameplay on a mechanical level - if they wish to spend their time crafting stories they may do so.  In as much as the set favors a certain style of play, it is social gameplay.
