The Magic Era is the introductory set with an emphasis on collaborative storytelling in a classic, mythological style.  It asks players to create origin stories for their gods or goddesses and to explore their powers outside of the boundaries of time and space.  Players will create and destroy whole worlds and dimensions of reality, interweaving their stories with others to eventually settle on a collectively agreed-upon narrative.  As the Great Game begins, the World of the Ledge will be created and remain the focus of the gods for the rest of the campaign.

This is a high-scale set based on the Wheel's magic-axis and adjoining colors, so Glei (Perception), Sace (Charisma), Rha (Personality), Quae (Knowledge), Vei (Wisdom), and Ela (Spirit).  100 cards of each color are represented (many as multi-colored cards), with 300 total cards in the set.  There may be as many as 150 additional special story cards, likely the Greater, Main, and Lesser Gods of these colors.  As a high-scale set, card values range from 1M (common) to 1B (mythic rare), the highest in the game, and the story roughly covers a period from 2 billion years ago to 200 million years ago (although given the powers in play here, linear time hardly applies).  Gameplay for this set is distinguished by its freeform nature gradually giving way to more structured play toward the end of the season.  The first session might be revealing cards from the Ledge Deck in a fashion similar to Tarot card readings, asking the players to explain the significance of the card on the unfolding story.  As players create or collect more cards, they can play them using their own interpretations of the text, negotiating the specifics with other players in instances of conflict.  The Game Master primarily plays as the Primes and the Titans, acting as final arbitrator in those roles.
